  • Why choose this qualification?

    The qualifications within this suite recognise the knowledge and skills of individuals who have trained to be mentors, including peer mentors. They have been developed with the support of organisations already training mentors to work in a variety of different settings with clients from different backgrounds, of different ages and with differing needs.

    The qualifications are designed to indicate that successful candidates have the appropriate knowledge and skills to act as mentors, including as peer mentors.

    The qualifications enable progression to a mentoring role, whether paid or voluntary. There are four qualifications within the suite and successful candidates may choose to extend their learning by progressing to a larger mentoring qualification at either Level 2 or Level 3.

    Learners must achieve the two mandatory units totalling 4 credits.

    Progression & entry requirements

    Whilst some of our qualifications are regulated for pre-16 learners, our minimum age is 14. The qualifications enable progression to a mentoring role, whether paid or voluntary.
