You will no longer need to book assessments for ESOL Level 1 from 1st August 2018.

At the start of the academic year we simplified the way that Entry Level ESOL assessments are booked. Following the success of this change, we are now pleased to be able to roll out this process to ESOL assessments at Level 1.

These changes will reduce the administrative burden on you and many of you will already be familiar with the process for your use of Entry Level ESOL. If you do need any help, as always, we are at the end of the phone to provide further guidance.

What has changed:

  • You will no longer need to book assessments for ESOL at Level 1. Simply register a cohort and all the relevant papers/tasks will be available to download and print. To do this, open the cohort and select the ‘Cohort Documentation’ option to display available papers/tasks.
  • Papers and tasks will be available for you to select. This means you can manage which papers your learners receive, instead of Gateway Qualifications allocating them.
  • You will no longer need to use an attendance register for Level 1 sittings.

These changes will go live on 1st August 2018.

Please be advised that the Level 2 ESOL processes remain unchanged.

Take a look at our ESOL Handbook for further information or check out our suite of ESOL qualifications for a full list of qualifications.
