This year’s Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) Qualification funding approval manual sees a positive change of funding policy where “occupational regulation and/or licence to practice qualifications up to and including level 2, which are already approved for the 16-19 offer will be included in the AEB local flexibility offer.”

What does this mean for you?  The good news is that, due to this funding policy change, the Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment construction qualification that fulfils the mandatory training requirements for CSCS Labourer Green Card is now AEB funded.

You may have learners referred to you by Jobcentre Plus as part of a Sector-Based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) for entering construction.  Include this qualification now in your SWAP and wider construction adult offer.  Don’t forget if your adult learners want to work on a construction site they must have a CSCS card.  Read more about the CSCS Labourer card (also known as the Green card) and its requirements on the CSCS website.

If you need any help in shaping your SWAP in construction or other sectors do get in touch with your business development contact.
