Welcome to our new website, take a look around, we hope you like it.
The new website has been designed to be easy to use and to help you complete the most common tasks users perform on the website.
If you’re feeling a bit lost, don’t worry, we’re here to help and have provided guidance and links for some of those most common tasks.
Help – Everything’s moved, I can’t find anything!
There are two main ways to help you find things on the new website – through the menus and through the search.
Using the menus
The three options on our main menu are:
Qualifications – through this menu you will be able to find our qualifications, apprenticeships and other products broken down by type – e.g. Access to HE, Vocational, Apprenticeships, Functional Skills etc.
Subject Areas – on this menu our qualifications, apprenticeships and other products are grouped by subject area, allowing you to see at a glance the spread of product types in any sector or subject area.
Advice & Guidance – here you will find all our support materials along with advice and guidance on using our qualifications in one place. You’ll also find our frequently asked questions in this section – if you’re not sure how to do something, or need a little extra help this is the section to look in.
The smaller menus, sitting above the search bar in the top right, provide access to the following information:
Gateway Latest – Our new blog-style news and updates section, you’ll find details of forthcoming webinars, success stories from Centres, and education news in this section.
Careers – Want to work for us? Find out what it’s like here and view our current vacancies. We often have opportunities for assessment writers and markers, external quality assurers and moderators – much of which can be done alongside an existing job and provides excellent CPD and insight into the assessment process.
Contact Us – Get in touch with us here.
Searching the website
We now have just one search option which searches everything on the website and provides you with categorised results. The search box is prominent on the homepage, and also appears in the top right-hand corner of every page. The search bar on the homepage will suggest qualifications that contain your search terms as you type.
Search results are split out between Qualifications, Units, Apprenticeships and Everything Else. If you don’t see the result you were expecting, just check you are looking at the most appropriate tab, or try a different search term. Or, if you’ve got too many results, you can refine your search using the options that appear on the left-hand side of the search results page.
How do I find information about a qualification?
Most people visiting our website do so to find out about qualifications, so we’ve brought all the relevant information together onto one page for each qualification. You can now download the qualification specification, check the price and funding eligibility, see the unit details and support materials, and much more, all from the qualification page.
I can’t see all the units.
Unit information was one of the popular requests when we asked you what you wanted from a new website so we’re delighted to have unit information available for each qualification. Units are grouped according to the rules of combination or structure of the qualification. To expand and contract each section and to see the unit information simply click on the relevant title.
What support do you provide?
In addition to the support materials provided for each qualification, we have collated all our resources into one section under our Advice and Guidance menu. Here you will find handy guides to help with the administration side of working with Gateway Qualifications, as well as a wealth of resources to help with your delivery of our qualifications, including best practice guides, webinars, sample assessments, support materials, suggested resources and more.
I have another question not answered here.
The Frequently Asked Questions section that we have added to the new site aims to provide quick answers to the most common queries we receive. If your question isn’t covered their, then please get in touch with us – we may even add your question to the FAQ!
I just want to get in touch with you, how do I do that?
Our Contact Us page provides details of how to get in touch. You can still call us on 01206 911 211 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ve also added more specific forms to our website to help ensure you can get your query resolved as quickly as possible. Completing these will ensure that your query goes straight to the most appropriate department and that you have provided us with all the information we need to start helping you.
