If you’re a centre newly working with us and want to make the most of the information available on our website, we’ve provided guidance and links to help you complete some of those most common tasks. User-friendly features and clear search functions mean you will have the hang of things in no time!

Relaunched in December 2017, our new website was designed to be easy-to-use and to help you complete the most common tasks that are frequently performed by users.

Where do I start??

There are two main ways to find things on the website – through the menus and through the search.

Using the menus

The three options on our main menu are:

Qualifications
Through this menu you can access our qualifications, apprenticeships and other products, broken down by type – e.g. Access to HE, Vocational, ESOL, Digital qualifications etc.

Subject Areas
On this menu are grouped by subject area, allowing you to see at a glance the qualifications and products we have available in each topic.

Advice & Guidance
Here you will find direction on using our qualification, from guidance on how to complete administration tasks to resources and support materials that can help with delivery. You’ll also find our frequently asked questions in this section – if you’re not sure how to do something, or need a little extra help this is the section to look in.

The smaller teal menus, sitting in the top right corner above the search bar, provide access to the following information:

About Us – for those less familiar with Gateway Qualifications, this page provides an introduction. You can also find contact details for our staff members in the Meet the Team section.

Gateway Latest – Our blog-style news and updates section, you’ll find details of forthcoming webinars, success stories from Centres, and education news in this section.

Careers – Want to work for us? Find out what it’s like here and view our current vacancies. We often have opportunities for assessment writers and markers, external quality assurers and moderators – much of which can be done alongside an existing job and provides excellent CPD and insight into the assessment process.

Contact Us – You can get in touch with us in a variety if ways on this page.

Centre Login – If you’re a recognised Centre and need to login to Prism or Quartzweb, you’ll find shortcuts in this menu.

Using search

We are continually updating our search function to make sure you are provided with the most suited and relevant information you are looking for. To improve your search, use the purple search box on the homepage when you are searching for qualifications:

The search bar on the top right of the screen is best used for search terms and keywords:

Search results are split between headings for clarity: Qualifications, Units, Apprenticeships and Everything Else. We have a lot of information on this website, so we want to display results in the clearest way to help you find the right information first time. However, if you don’t see the result you were expecting, click across the tabs, or try a different search term. If you’ve got too many results, you can refine your search using the options that appear on the left-hand side of the search results page.

How do I find information about a qualification?

All information about each qualification has been packaged together on its own page. For example, scrolling through the page of this ESOL qualification, you see you can download the qualification specification, check the price and funding eligibility, see the unit details and support materials, and much more.

What about unit information?

Unit information was one of the popular requests when we asked you what you wanted from a new website, so we’re delighted to now have this information available for each qualification. Units are grouped according to the rules of combination or structure of the qualification. Using our Digital Skills for Work qualification as an example, click on the Structure & Unit Details tab to see for yourself:

A great feature within the Structure & Unit Details tab is you can click and view details about each unit, including the learning aims and outcomes.

How do I know if the qualification is funded?

One of our favourite features on the website is that on the Funding tab, there is a direct link to see that qualification on the ESFA Hub website. Use the Digital Skills for Work qualification as an example again, click and see for yourself:

What support do you provide?

In addition to the support materials provided for each qualification, we have collated all our resources into one section under our Advice and Guidance menu. Here you will find handy guides to help with the administration side of working with Gateway Qualifications, as well as a wealth of resources to help with your delivery of our qualifications, including best practice guides, webinars, sample assessments, support materials, suggested resources and more.

I have another question not answered here

The Frequently Asked Questions section can provide quick answers to the most common queries we receive. If your question isn’t covered, then please get in touch with us – we may even add your question to the FAQ!

I just want to get in touch with you, how do I do that?

Our Contact Us page provides details of how to get in touch. You can still call us on 01206 911 211 or email enquiries@gatewayqualifcations.org.uk and we’ve also added more specific forms to our website to help ensure you can get your query resolved as quickly as possible. Completing these will ensure that your query goes to the most appropriate department and that you have provided us with all the information we need to start helping you.
