Updates to our Progression Qualifications will include both withdrawals and amendments.
We are conscious that times have changed since these qualifications were first introduced. We have made changes to ensure they facilitate excellent practice and encourage tutors to update and refresh their courses so that learners gain the skills that enable them to operate effectively in the modern world.
*Update article published on 29/06/2020: Refreshed Progression Qualifications to be launched
Unit amendments
These amendments will see units:
- remaining the same
- being withdrawn, or
- being replaced
We have created a spreadsheet to clearly display what is happening to each unit within each qualification. The spreadsheet features a number of sheets, outlining both current and new units, so ensure you are looking at the correct tab and qualification size.
Progression Review Spreadsheet
While looking at this document, we ask for your feedback using the qualification feedback form in Prism by 15th March 2020. Perhaps think about these 3 particular questions:
- Have you removed and failed to replace with more up-to-date versions any units that you think are more important to keep?
- Should we be adding any units – either from existing qualifications or new units?
- Are there any units that we are proposing to retain as they stand but need a refresh?
All changes will come into effect from 1st August 2020.
Qualification withdrawals
The following Progression Qualifications will be withdrawn on 31st July 2021:
Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Diploma in Progression (Entry 3)
Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Diploma in Progression
Gateway Qualifications Level 3 Award in Progression
Gateway Qualifications Level 3 Certificate Progression
