The Gateway Qualifications Level 3 Award in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Awareness is suitable for those want to improve their understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), whether for professional or personal reasons. It will be particularly relevant for teachers, teaching assistants and learning support staff who have currently have only a limited knowledge of ADHD.
The qualification contains one mandatory unit which covers characteristics, causes, treatments and assessment methods as well as ways to support individuals with ADHD and sources of further relevant information.
Learners can progress from this qualification to the Gateway Qualifications Level 3 Award in Supporting Learners with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder where they will learn to apply their understanding of ADHD to support learners in practice. Individuals could also move on to broader learning support qualifications such as a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or progress to a Level 4 qualification such as the Gateway Qualifications Level 4 Certificate in Supporting the Learning of Learners with Special Educational Needs and Disability.
The approved age range for these qualifications is 16-18 and 19+ for the Level 2 and 3 Awards in AHD Awareness and 18+ for the Level 3 Award in Supporting Learners with ADHD.
