Understand partnership working in health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings.
Additional details
When working in health and social care or with children and young people there are a number of different organisations involved in providing a range of services. Although each organisation will provide different services it is essential that they all work together to meet the needs of the individual. Duplication of services, misunderstandings or a lack of service could result from not working together in partnership.
Learners can carry out research on the partners that may be involved. These could include education department, social and health services, voluntary organisations, care homes etc.
Benefits of partnership working could include:
- ability to plan together, leading a better quality care plan
- a seamless/holistic experience of care/support for the individual
- effective and efficient use of resources
