A day of strategy, smiles, and social impact – our staff event brought colleagues together to learn, laugh, and give back, with food bank donations and personal well-being goals at the heart of it all.
Yesterday’s Gateway Qualifications Staff Day was more than just a chance to connect and learn – it became a meaningful act of giving. In a heartwarming show of generosity, colleagues donated non-perishable food items to support food banks across the UK.
The initiative, led by our Staff Involvement Group, aimed to tackle food insecurity by distributing donations to regional food banks in the North, South, East, and West of the country.
Fabienne Bailey, CEO, said:
“I am delighted to see the generosity of my Gateway Qualifications colleagues. In this world of abundance, it is heartbreaking to know that families still go hungry and need to rely on donations from others. This is a small gesture from our wonderful staff, and I would like to thank our Staff Involvement Group for initiating the idea.”

The timing couldn’t have been more meaningful. Today is National Food Bank Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of hunger and inspiring community action. Staff embraced the opportunity to give back, reflecting Gateway Qualifications’ ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community support.
Our staff day was a true celebration of connection, well-being, and purpose. From inspiring sessions with TJ Power and The DOSE Lab to moments of laughter and reflection, the day reminded us of the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.
Staff celebrated the summer picnic initiative, also organised by the Staff Involvement Group, which encouraged everyone to enjoy nature, fresh air, and time with friends, family, or solo. Gateway Qualifications contributed £10 per person towards their picnic, and prizes were awarded for the best picnic selfies, recipes, and funniest photo, adding a joyful touch to the day.
We also recognised the efforts of colleagues taking part in our virtual challenge to walk the length of the UK – from Land’s End to John O’Groats – promoting physical activity and time outdoors.
Whether it was setting personal well-being goals, reconnecting with colleagues, or contributing to our food bank initiative, everyone left with something meaningful to take away.
