Be able to take a plant cutting.

    Use a given tool to cut a chosen plant in accordance with instructions.

Be able to root plant cuttings.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1

    Remove lower leaves of cutting.

  • 2.2

    Dip bottom of cutting in given rooting compound.

  • 2.3

    Fill pot with a given compost and make a hole or dent to receive cutting.


3.

Be able to plant cuttings.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1

    Insert cuttings into compost in an appropriate position.

  • 3.2

    Place supporting canes appropriately, if needed.

  • 3.3

    Apply water.


4.

Be able to cultivate plant cuttings.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1

    Place the pot in an appropriate place to encourage growth, covering it securely with a polythene bag, if needed.

  • 4.2

    Check for new growth without disturbing the cutting.
