Learners are expected to focus on a specific land based workplace which may belong to any segment of the land-based sector (eg Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Care).

Unit Learning Outcomes

Know the main responsibilities of employers and employees for health and safety in a Land-based workplace.

Assessment Criteria

  • 1.1

    Identify key aspects of health and safety in a specific Land-based workplace (e.g. use of PPE, safe storage of medicines)

  • 1.2

    Identify main responsibilities of employers in relation to health and safety.

  • 1.3

    Identify main responsibilities of workers in relation to health and safety in a specific Land-based workplace.

  • 1.4

    State what to do if they identify risks, hazards, accidents or sudden illnesses in a specific Land-based workplace.

Know the hazards and risks that can arise in a Land-based workplace.
