Assessment Guidance

Learners should be working with and closely supervised by a suitably qualified and experienced adult when addressing Learning Outcomes 3 and 4. They should be following instructions at all times and responsible for completing only aspects of moving, handling, catching and restraining small animals.

Unit Learning Outcomes

Know about safely moving, handling, catching and restraining small animals.

Assessment Criteria

    State why it is important to behave calmly and confidently when moving, handling, catching and restraining small animals.

    State why it is important to follow safety rules when moving, handling, catching and restraining small animals.

    Identify the correct method for safely moving a specific small animal, and for settling it in a new place.
