Be able to prepare the planting container. 

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1

    Fill the container to the required depth with compost appropriate for the plants selected.

  • 3.2

    Add fertiliser and/or other additives, where required.

Be able to plant plants in a container.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1

    Select and use correctly appropriate tools for planting.

  • 4.2

    Make planting holes of an appropriate size.

  • 4.3

    Plant the plants to the required depth and spaced appropriately. 

  • 4.4

    Take account of visual characteristics of plants to create a display in line with plan.

  • 4.5

    Position container in an appropriate place, using safe lifting and handling techniques where necessary.

  • 4.6

    Water plants using appropriate method and amount.
