Assessment Guidance

The main focus of the assessment for this unit is on the skills required for job search. However, it is expected that the underpinning teaching and learning will help develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of

• on and off-line sources of job vacancy information, and how to use these to identify suitable job roles
• how to take a pro-active approach to job search that go beyond checking for advertised job roles.

Aim

To enable learners to find out about potential job vacancies and to take the initiative in their job search.

Be able to find out about job vacancies.

Assessment Criteria

    Use different on-line and offline sources to find out about jobs available.

    From vacancies identified, select jobs most suited to own interests, aspirations, skills, qualifications and/or experience.

    Describe different actions an individual can take to be a pro-active job searcher.

  • 2.2

    Create a profile on an appropriate online site to support own job search.
