The focus of the assessment for this unit is on problem-solving skills. However, it is expected that the underpinning teaching and learning will help develop learners’ awareness of
• common types of workplace problem
• sources of help in solving problems relating to work.
To help learners develop the skills they need to tackle problems relating to work.
Be able to select solutions to a work-related problem or issue.
Identify possible solutions to a particular problem or issue affecting self, using own experience and ideas and/or given sources of help, support and guidance.
Select an appropriate solution to the problem or issue.
Be able to apply a strategy to address a work-related problem or issue.
Take appropriate steps to address a straightforward work-related problem affecting self, once a particular solution has been chosen.
