Learners may be assessed through the use of simulation or scenarios, where appropriate.

Aim

To help learners take on some responsibility for maintaining their own mental wellbeing.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.

Be able to support own mental wellbeing.

Assessment Criteria

  • 1.1

    Identify activities, attitudes and behaviours that make them feel good about themselves.

  • 1.2

    Take part in activities that make them feel good about themselves.

  • 1.3

    Reflect on the benefits of specific activities on their mental wellbeing.

Be able to cope in different situations.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1

    Identify situations which cause them to feel negative emotions.

  • 2.2

    Use techniques or strategies to reduce negative feelings (e.g. anxiety) and/or increase positive feelings (e.g. calm).


3.

Be able to access support for mental wellbeing.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1

    Identify sources of support for mental wellbeing, relevant to own needs and circumstances.

  • 3.2

    Outline the type of support on offer from different sources.
