Assessment Guidance

The focus of the assessment for this unit is on the skills needed to contribute to the community. However, it is expected that the underpinning teaching and learning will help develop learners’ awareness of:

• different ways in which people contribute to the community
• possible options for contributing themselves to their own local community
• how contributing to the community helps others and themselves.

Aim

To enable learners to identify ways in which they can contribute to their community and to use their skills, strengths and abilities in an activity which benefits the community.

    Undertake a specific activity (as part of a group or as an individual) which benefits the community.

Be able to assess own contribution to the community.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1

    State how other people benefited from the specific community action that they undertook.

  • 2.2

    State what they enjoyed and what they did not enjoy about taking part in a community action.
