Assessment Guidance

The main focus of the assessment for this unit is on self-advocacy skills. However, it is expected that the underpinning teaching and learning will help develop learners’ awareness of:

• the importance of being able to speak up for yourself in a range of different contexts
• the strategies they can use to get their voices heard.

Aim

To equip learners with the skills to speak up for themselves so that they are able to exert control over key areas of their lives.
