Aim

To ensure learners are able to prepare for and learn from work placement in order to make the most of the experience.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.

Be able to prepare for a work placement.

Assessment Criteria

  • 1.1

    Identify the nature of the business or organisation where the work placement will take place.

  • 1.2

    Give examples of activities in which they will be involved in the work placement.

  • 1.3

    Give examples of appropriate behaviours at the place of work (e.g. turning up on time, wearing the right clothes).

  • 1.4

    State what to do if they need support during the work placement.


2.

Be able to identify what they want to achieve through the work placement.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1

    Identify main goals they want to achieve while on the placement.


3.

Be able to identify learning from the work placement.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1

    Give examples of new or improved skills and/or knowledge gained through work placement.


4.

Be able to review own performance during work placement.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1

    Give examples of things they did well on work placement.

  • 4.2

    Identify some aspects of employability that they need to work on further.
