Understand basic atomic structure and the arrangement of elements in the Periodic Table.

    Describe the properties of subatomic particles.

    Define atomic number, mass number, isotope and relative atomic mass.

    Deduce the electronic structure of atoms as far as Z=36, explaining the arrangement of elements on the Periodic Table in terms of their electronic configuration.

Understand types of chemical bond relating the type of bonding to the structure and properties of materials.
