1 — Be able to perform pieces as part of an ensemble on an instrument or voice.

    •are balanced
    •show basic articulation
    •have a sense of pulse
    •have dynamic interest.

    Show technical control of own chosen instrument or voice.
2 — Understand the importance of rehearsal.

  • 2.1
    State the benefits of regular rehearsal.
  • 2.2
    Outline how rehearsal can be used to address the difficulties of putting music together as an ensemble.
3 — Be able to rehearse ensemble performance.

    Use individual practice to realise the technical demands of the music.
  • 3.2
    Achieve improved balance and timing through rehearsing with other members of the ensemble.
4 — Know how individual players contribute to an ensemble.

    Outline the different contributions of individual players in an ensemble.

    Describe own contribution to a specific ensemble performance.
