    Describe the constituent parts of a design brief.

    Work to the requirements of a specified design brief.
2 — Be able to create visual research to a specified brief.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1
    Use a range of resources to produce specified drawn visual research.
  • 2.2
    Supplement drawn visual research with relevant materials such as fabrics, yarns, and examples of colour and texture.
  • 2.3
    Organise visual research to a specified format.
3 — Be able to develop initial design ideas.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1
    Use own visual research as the source for a range of initial design ideas to a specified format.
  • 3.2
    Present initial design ideas to a specified format.
4 — Be able to develop a finished design.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1
    Select different initial ideas for further development.
  • 4.2
    Develop variations of style details.
  • 4.3

    Develop finished designs including:
    •front and back views showing all techincal details.
    •provide sample fabrics with alternative colourways for designs
    •provide a simple costing sheet for each design.
