Be able to prepare pattern for cutting.

    Use cutting instructions and technical information, and choose correct size.
  • 2.2
    Make simple adjustments to the pattern as required.
  • 2.3
    Cut out pattern pieces.
  • 2.4
    Check all pattern pieces to include interfacing pattern.

Be able to prepare and cut fabric.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1
    Steam press fabric and lay on the fold.
  • 3.2
    Transfer pattern on to fabric with inlay and tailor's markings.
  • 3.3
    Cut fabric with all markings.

Be able to produce tailored trousers.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1
    Baste garment for first fitting.
  • 4.2
    Adjust baste garment for final fitting.

    Manufacture final trousers, to include
    •fly front
    •side pockets
    •hook and bar/button
    •belt loops
    •waistband.
