Be able to produce a CAD drawing in 2D and 3D.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1
    Use a given CAD package to produce a simple 3D model of their chosen product.
  • 2.2
    Use a given CAD package to produce a fully dimensioned engineering drawing of their chosen product.
  • 2.3
    Manipulate the chosen CAD package in order to produce the desired outcomes.

Be able to save and store CAD data files correctly.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1
    Create a suitable folder in which to store their data.
  • 3.2
    Save files in the correct format.
  • 3.3
    Export files in the appropriate format for use by other applications.
  • 3.4
    Save documents to other applications:– removable storage devices, CD/DVD.

Be able to output CAD data to peripheral devices.

    Save/export data in the correct format for transfer to the selected output device.

    Open/transfer the file to the selected output device.
