Gateway Qualifications has announced its expansion into End-point Assessment (EPA) for apprenticeships.

This is a significant move for the national awarding organisation, recognised for its innovative and accessible approach to vocational qualifications.

With its background of delivering qualifications nationally, Gateway Qualifications will bring a wealth of expertise and insight to the EPA domain.

The move comes at a critical time: apprenticeship starts are increasing and the demand for skilled professionals is surging across many industries, these conditions have created a growing need for robust and effective apprenticeship assessments.

Carol Snape CEO at Gateway Qualifications added:

“We are thrilled to be on this journey into EPA, bringing our extensive expertise in qualifications to support the apprenticeship experience.

“Our mission has always been to support learners and providers through our qualifications, and by stepping into the EPA space, we are extending our commitment to support employers too, to help recognise skilled, confident, and knowledgeable apprentices and help them to succeed in their chosen fields.”

Gateway Qualifications’ approach to EPA promises to be learner-centric, with an emphasis on fairness, transparency, and flexibility.

The awarding organisation’s extensive experience in qualification development and assessment ensures a robust, yet supportive approach to EPA, designed to meet the rigorous standards set by industry and Ofqual.

Paul Saunders, Commercial Director at Gateway Qualifications said:

“Throwing our hat into the EPA ring is not just about growth, it’s about what we can deliver as an organisation to support apprentices, employers and training providers across the UK.”

As Gateway Qualifications prepares to roll out its EPA services, its focus is on collaboration with employers, training providers, and apprentices to ensure a smooth and effective assessment process.

“We might be at the beginning of our journey with End-point Assessment,” said Carol Snape, “but we are committed to creating a culture of excellence and innovation, ensuring that employers and apprentices benefit from a fair, robust, and supportive assessment experience.”
