Ofqual has confirmed the closure of the vocational and technical qualifications contingency regulatory framework (VCRF).
The VCRF was introduced in 2021 to mitigate the continuing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and had remained in place as a contingency measure should the pandemic worsen and government policy change.
The adaptations Gateway Qualifications put in place for qualifications during the pandemic ceased to be applicable in 2022, when all delivery and assessment returned to being conducted in line with the relevant qualification specification.
