Assessment Criteria

    Identify suitable tools and materials for the job.
  • 1.2
    Identify obvious defects in the surface to be papered.
  • 1.3
    Give an approximate number of complete drops needed to cover the surface area.
  • 1.4
    Set up a workstation in a given position.
  • 1.5
    Mix adhesive as directed.
  • 1.6
    Measure straight drops, making an allowance for trimming, and cut paper.
  • 1.7
    Mark a plumb line from a given starting point.

Be able to wallpaper.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1
    Apply adhesive to the paper, ensuring even and complete coverage.
  • 2.2
    Fold paper before applying to wall.
  • 2.3
    Apply first drop to the plumb line and ensure subsequent drops are butted.
  • 2.4
    Smooth paper to minimise creases and bubbles.
  • 2.5
    Ensure internal angles are correctly finished.
  • 2.6
    Ensure external angles are correctly finished.
  • 2.7
    Trim excess paper and remove any excess paste.

Be able to maintain tools and the working area.

Assessment Criteria

    Clean all tools.
  • 3.2
    Re-instate the working area upon the completion of tasks.
