Assessment Guidance

The focus of the assessment for this unit is on money-handling skills. However, it is expected that the underpinning teaching and learning will help develop learners’ awareness of

• Different ways to pay for items (e.g. cash, debit or credit cards, contactless payments, Apple Pay, Paypal) and when each method might be appropriate
• The importance of keeping money safe and some of the potential threats (e.g. being short-changed; checking amounts when paying using contactless cards; not letting cards out of their sight; not sharing PIN).
