Assessment Guidance

The main focus of the assessment for this unit is on the skills required to keep safe. However, it is expected that the underpinning teaching and learning will help develop learners’ awareness of:

• the importance of keeping safe
• some of the key risks, hazards and threats to avoid or minimise at home and in the community
• common safety routines.

Aim

To help learners understand how to keep safe both at home and when they are out in the community.
