Understand the use of evidence-based interventions with learners with special educational needs and disability (SEND).
Summarise the concept of ‘evidence-based practice’.
Explain the rationale for using evidence-based interventions to meet the needs of learners with SEND.
Explain the processes associated with selecting, applying, monitoring and reviewing the efficacy of evidence-based interventions.
Be able to evaluate how well a learning provider applies evidence-based practice.
Assess how effectively a specific learning provider (e.g. school or college) selects and monitors the delivery and impact of interventions for learners with SEND.
Analyse the extent to which learner voice is used to review the effectiveness of the provision, including specific interventions.
Be able to contribute to the use of evidence-based interventions.
Identify and record relevant information on learner progress and outcomes associated with one or more specific interventions.
Contribute to the analysis of progress data to help determine the effectiveness of a specific intervention for specific individuals.
Be able to support learners to transfer knowledge and skills gained in an evidence-based intervention to other contexts.
Support learners to develop their awareness of what they have learned from a specific evidence-based intervention, and how they have learned it.
