Assessment Criteria

  • 1.1

    Explain own school's aims, priorities, targets and plans for your subject.

  • 1.2

    Explain how the subject contributes to the overall school aims, targets and action plans.

  • 1.3

    Explain how assessment, recording and reporting of pupil's attainment and progress in the subject meets statutory requirements and those of their own school.


2.

Assess standards and plan for improvements in the teaching of your creative arts subject in primary schools.

Assessment Criteria

  • 2.1

    Summarise the main characteristics of high quality teaching in your subject in primary schools.

  • 2.2

    Explain strategies for improving and sustaining high standards of teaching, learning and achievement of pupils.

  • 2.3

    Assess the teaching standards in your subject by staff against the Ofsted/Estyn Quality of Teaching criteria.


3.

Manage risk in your creative arts subject across own school.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1

    Evaluate a variety of risk assessments for provision in your subject.

  • 3.2

    Create, review and revise risk assessments as appropriate ensuring best practice.

  • 3.3

    Implement strategies to manage risk in your subject across own school.


4.

Provide leadership in your creative arts subject.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1

    Explain how to develop a climate that enables staff and pupils to develop a positive attitude towards the subject.

  • 4.2

    Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures and present these to head teachers and governors.
