Health promotion activity:

Option 1: On site health promotion activity day with students given dedicated space to undertake their activity.

Option 2: Remote activity as a health promotion forum using MS Teams, Zoom or alternative platforms.

Each option should incorporate an element of audience participation.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.

Be able to plan and justify a local in-house health promotion activity.

Identify accessible target group and appropriate in-house setting this could include students, work colleagues, etc.

Examples: Improving individual health – mental/physical, improving environment and communities in relation to health.

Rationale for activity should consider current issues in health and health inequalities and identify appropriate sources.

Practical and ethical considerations relevant to health promotion activity should be identified.

Assessment Criteria

  • 1.1

    Plan a health promotion activity for a particular target group in house.

  • 1.2

    Justify the activity planned in 1.1.

  • 1.3

    Identify ethical issues which relate to 1.1.

Activity should be carried out in-house where possible.

To aid evaluation students could produce a short questionnaire for participants.

    Undertake the health promotion activity planned in 1.1.

    Collect data to evaluate the activity.
