    Select different fabrics and construct samples of different types of boning including
    •inseam boning
    •top stitched boning
    •boning covered with binding
    •boning on seam allowance.
  • 2.2
    Evaluate the suitability of the fabrics selected.

Be able to use invisible zip construction techniques.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1
    Compare the use of an invisible zip with the use of a conventional zip including
    •techniques used for insertion
    •cost and availability.

    Select fabrics and haberdashery to construct a sample of an invisible zip.

    Construct a sample of an invisible zip insertion.
