Be able to produce initial paper patterns from a block.

  • 2.1
    Using the block drafted, produce a range of accurate pattern pieces for specified garment features.
  • 2.2
    Using the block drafted, produce an initial paper pattern for a specified garment.

Be able to produce a toile from a block.

Assessment Criteria

  • 3.1
    Using the initial paper pattern, mark, cut, and machine a specified toile.
  • 3.2
    Identify and explain any problems.
  • 3.3
    Make adjustments to the toile to ensure a good fit.

Be able to produce a finished pattern.

Assessment Criteria

  • 4.1
    Correctly transfer all adjustments to the pattern to produce a final paper pattern.
  • 4.2
    Record the relevant technical information on the pattern.
  • 4.3
    Evaluate the finished paper pattern using the correct pattern cutting terminology.
