Will the EQA come to my Centre for Centre Recognition or Qualification Approval?

Depending on the qualification you have applied for, your EQA may need to complete an on-site visit for either Centre Recognition or Qualification Approval reviews. However, we will always aim to try to complete these reviews remotely, as much as possible.

What documents do I need to provide for a Centre Recognition meeting?

What documents do I need to provide for a Qualification Approval Application?

Centres must provide staffing details, including name, evidence of experience, and qualifications.
A CV and related qualification certificates are expected as part of the qualification approval process for all qualifications at all levels.
We will accept a statement of skills and work history if no CV is available.
More details can be found in the Quality & Compliance section of our Centre Handbook.

How can I provide the documents in advance for the EQA?

How soon will I get an answer as to whether my Centre is approved or not?

Our Service Level Agreements for Qualification Approvals and Centre Recognitions are published on our Customer Charter page.

Is Centre Approval given for all sites of my Centre?

Approval for sites and staff is given on an individual basis. We will always confirm with you which staff and/or sites have not been approved. If further information is required to gain approval, we will contact you. Keep an eye out for emails from our Quality Team once you have submitted your application.

What happens after my Centre gains approval?

Terms and Conditions will be shared with you via Prism, which requires your signature. Once they have been signed, Centre Monitoring activities will be planned to review your Centre’s policies and procedures regularly (at least once per year).

When can my Centre begin delivery of the qualification?

You can only begin to deliver a qualification once your application has been approved by Gateway Qualifications.

If approval is granted for a qualification at a certain level, does that automatically provide approval for the lower levels of the same qualification?

No. You will need to apply for approval before delivering any qualifications, even if you already have approval to deliver higher levels of the same qualification.
