We would like to remind you of the importance of promptly notifying us should any industrial action impact the delivery or assessment of our qualifications.

In the event of industrial action, it is crucial that we are informed as soon as possible to ensure that we can take appropriate measures to prevent any adverse effects on learners. This is in accordance with our Centre Agreement terms and conditions.

If planned assessments cannot be rescheduled and are disrupted by industrial action, an application for special consideration can be made. The special consideration applies to the disruption at the time of the assessment only. It is not intended to compensate for other kinds of disruption to teaching, learning, staff shortages or access to teaching and learning facilities.

Please refer to our website for information: Access Arrangements, Reasonable Adjustments & Special Considerations – Gateway Qualifications

For further information on disruption to assessments, see: What schools, colleges and other centres should do if exams or other assessments are seriously disrupted – GOV.UK

Please ensure that any such incidents are reported to the Quality Assurance Team at quality@gatewayqualifications.org.uk without delay.

We would like to draw your attention to the following terms of the Centre Agreement:

The Recognised Centre shall:

4.1.3: Take all reasonable steps to identify the risk of the occurrence of any incident which could have an Adverse Effect.

4.1.4: Notify Gateway Qualifications, as soon as practicable upon becoming aware, of:

(a) The risk of any incident which could have an Adverse Effect.

(b) Acts, omissions, or incidents which have, or are likely to have, an Adverse Effect.

(c) Any other act, omission, or incident which may otherwise compromise the reputation of Gateway Qualifications and/or any of the qualifications themselves
