We are making some changes to units within our Vocational Studies qualifications.
The changes are intended to simplify the structure and do not include the removal or addition of any units, so they should not affect any of your delivery plans.
Previously some units appeared in both the Business and Retail and Employability optional units groups. We will be removing these units from the Employability group so that they only appear in the Business and Retail group.
If you have previously selected any of the units below from the Employability group, please double-check that you are now selecting them from within the Business and Retail group.
The qualifications and units affected are:
Level 1 Vocational Studies
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Certificate In Vocational Studies
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Diploma In Vocational Studies
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Extended Certificate in Vocational Studies
The following units will now only appear in the Business and Retail group:
- A/617/4081 Communication skills for work
- R/617/4071 Conduct at Work
- H/617/4091 Exploring Entrepreneurship
- A/617/4095 Health and Safety in the Workplace
- F/617/4101 Introduction to Self-Employment
Entry Level 3 Vocational Studies
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Certificate In Vocational Studies (Entry 3)
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Diploma In Vocational Studies (Entry 3) (Approved for delivery in Wales only)
- Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Extended Certificate in Vocational Studies (Entry 3)
The following units will now only appear in the Business and Retail group:

- L/617/4070 Conduct at Work
- D/617/4073 Customer service skills
- D/617/4087 Exploring and Presenting Enterprise Ideas
