    This single unit qualification is designed to introduce the learner to the signs, symptoms and factors that may cause diabetes. It also considers the impact of diabetes on different illnesses such as depression, dementia and pregnancy. While they can easily be offered as stand-alone bite-sized awards, the new qualifications could also be usefully combined with other units or qualifications into meaningful packages of learning.

    The single unit within each qualification is also included within Health and Care qualifications.
