Nothing stimulates the debate between the worlds of education and work so much as the subject of employability skills.

Recognising the importance of assets such as team working, written and verbal communication skills and personal development, Gateway Qualifications seeks to embed these soft skills within every qualification suite it offers. There is also flexibility of delivery: embedded in vocational qualifications or as stand-alone qualifications.

Working in partnership with the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP) brings endorsement, relevance, and industry expertise to our Employability qualifications. This collaboration helps meet the practical needs of learners and providers across the UK.

The Employability Progression Pathways leaflet outlines various ways to support learners in improving their employability skills, utilising a range of qualifications. The pathways used in the document are suggestions based on our experience and that of providers using these qualifications. You can develop other pathways relevant to your learners.

If you’d like a free-of-charge, no-obligation meeting to discuss your particular needs and how you can tackle your specific challenges, call our Business Development team on 01206 911 211 to arrange a suitable time.

It’s built into our vocational qualifications

CBI and other employer surveys tell us that employability skills are important to equip learners with the right mix of qualifications and abilities. It’s a philosophy we readily endorse and integrate within our comprehensive suite of vocational qualifications.

Listening and learning

As an awarding organisation which designs, develops and accredits credit-based learning and qualifications we have made it our business to work with and listen to employers so that we include the skills they require.

Providing the bridge between education and employment

Our approach supports learners in a seamless transition from education to work, certificating the transferable skills to provide the confidence they need and employers the evidence of the employability skills they demand.

Also available as stand-alone options

We also offer Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 discrete qualifications in Employability Skills, underlining the importance of this subject as part of the journey to further study and/or employment.
