What is the purpose of this qualification?
This qualification covers competence elements needed to work in procurement.
The qualification comprises of 40 credits and has a minimum of 190 guided learning hours.
Learners will complete 16 Credits from the mandatory units and a further 24 Credits from group O (Optional).

This qualification forms part of the advanced apprenticeship in procurement and supply and so is eligible for apprenticeship funding, it is acknowledged that some learners may need or wish to take the qualification on its own, for example, learners who work on a part-time or voluntary basis and so may not be able to gain support from employers.
Learners eligible for advanced learning loans and wishing to undertake this qualification may be able to use the loan to fund their learning.

Learners undertaking this qualification are likely to have a level of attainment at level 2 and be working or towards or have achieved English and maths at level 2 and have IT skills. It is available to learners aged 16+, and it is anticipated that it will be of specific relevance to:
• those who are interested in a career in the procurement sector embarking on Advanced Apprenticeship in Procurement and Supply
• Young people and adults who may already be in employment who wish to specialise in procurement and supply to further their career development
• those with delegated procurement responsibilities who work outside of a formal
procurement and supply environment.
