Safeguarding and wellbeing qualifications support learners in developing the knowledge and understanding needed to stay safe, build resilience, and engage positively with others. These areas are central to personal development across education, skills and training provision and form a key part of Ofsted’s inspection focus.

The Safeguarding and Wellbeing suite offers short, Ofqual regulated qualifications that support the delivery of these themes in a clear and structured way. They can also provide useful evidence for centres when demonstrating how they promote personal development, learner wellbeing, and safeguarding during Ofsted inspections.

Who are these qualifications suitable for?

  • Learners aged 14–16, 16–18 and 19+
  • Providers delivering tutorial, induction and enrichment learning
  • Centres supporting personal development, wellbeing and safeguarding
  • Mixed ability learner groups

Delivery

The qualifications are designed for flexible delivery alongside study programmes. Entry Level and Level 1 qualifications use an externally set, multiple choice assessment, helping centres check understanding while keeping administrative burden low.

Teaching resources, including PowerPoint presentations and sample questions, are available for most qualifications in the suite to support consistent delivery and effective learning.
